Unboxing | Fairyloot – Finale Collector’s Edition Box

Terwijl ik bij mijn broertje op visite was om de tweede halve finale van het Eurovisie Songfestival te kijken, kreeg ik een appje van mijn vriend. De Finale Collector’s Edition box van Fairyloot was binnengekomen! Ik had nog niet eens een trackingcode ontvangen, dus ik had de box nog lang niet verwacht. Omdat ik écht niet tot de volgende dag kon wachten om te kijken wat er in de box zat, smeekte ik mijn vriend een unboxing op video te zetten voor mij. Ik had niet verwacht dat hij het echt zou doen, maar een paar minuten later kreeg ik een filmpje toegestuurd. Het bleek de beste unboxing te zijn die ik ooit had gezien. Ik vond het zo leuk dat ik zelfs opperde om een Youtube kanaal te beginnen met unboxings van “de vriend van Jess”. Wat Fairyloot over de box zegt | We are so thrilled to preset our very first Collector’s Edition box, featuring an exclusive edition of Finale by Stephanie Garber. Every item in this box has been created in collaboration with Stephanie Garber, and we hope it captures the enchantment of Caraval!

The Caraval series means so much to us, so we wanted every item in this box to feel as magical as the books. Tella and Scarlett’s journey in the first two books stole our hearts and we can’t wait to see how things will end in Finale. Fates Playing Card Deck

Fairyloot | The first item in this box is the exclusive Fates Playing Cards Deck, which features character artwork by @lexaarts_ and artwork by @noverantale on the back of the playing cards and box. The character art features four Fates: The Prince of Hearts, The Fallen Star, The Poisoner and Mistress Luck. Sit down, pick a card – it’s time to play!

Mijn mening |Waaaauuuw! Alleen al het doosje vind ik prachtig! Tarot kaarten waren nog passender geweest voor deze serie, maar aan een pakje kaarten heb je meer. Alhoewel, ik denk niet dat ik dit pakje kaarten durf te gebruiken. Wat als ze beschadigen?! Ze zijn zo ongelooflijk mooi!

Midnight Maze Candle

Fairyloot | Glitter, glitter everywhere! The exclusive Midnight Maze Candle is a 7oz soy wax candle inspired by a scene in Finale (you’ll have to read and find out which one!). The candle was hand-poured by @bookishburns and the label is designed by @noverantale. It’s the perfect candle to burn whilst you immerse yourself in Finale!

Mijn mening | Ook dit is wauw! Wat een prachtige kleur glitters; het geeft echt het gevoel van de sterrenhemel tijdens middernacht. Ook het artwork op de kaars vind ik mooi. O, en hij ruikt ook lekker.

Magnetic Bookmark Set

Fairyloot | The adorable exclusive Magnetic Bookmark Set is brought to you by @idlestuff. The set includes Legend, Julian, Jacks, Tella and Scarlett and is hand-wrapped in recycled paper. We love the little details on each of them.

Mijn mening | Als je de unboxing van mijn vriend hebt gekeken, zal je je ongetwijfeld af hebben gevraagd wat in dat pakje zat. Nou, dit dus! Vijf magnetische boekenleggers zaten ingepakt in gerecycled papier. Ik vind ze best wel schattig, haha.

Book Sleeve

Fairyloot | Caraval can be a scary, dangerous place! As a community, we need to get our priorities right and protect the books first. So we simply had to include this stunning Book Sleeve to protect your new shiny copy of Finale. It displays Legend in a magical way and is designed by the amazing @taratjah.

Mijn mening | OMG! Deze vind ik echt zó mooi! Geen wonder ook natuurlijk, volgens mij heb ik nog nooit lelijke ontwerpen gezien van Taratjah, haha. Wauwie! Jammer genoeg zijn ze sinds kort wel op een wat slapper aanvoelend materiaal over gegaan, maar volgens mij is het verder een prima book sleeve.

Caraval Blanket

Fairyloot | What’s better than a soft Caraval Blanket to snuggle under whilst reading your favourite books? This stunning blanket features a beautiful design by @monolimeart! We adore all of the details on the characters and in the background.

Mijn mening | Ik was echt mega benieuwd naar wat in dat vacuüm gezogen plastic pakketje zat. Nou, een niet zo heel klein iets. Het is namelijk een enorm kleed waar je lekker mee op de bank – of in de zomer buiten – kunt gaan zitten. Als je tegen de haren instrijkt ziet het kleed er wel superlelijk uit, dus blijf vooral de haartjes goed strijken, haha. Ik vind het gezicht van Tella niet zo mooi, maar verder is het kleed eigenlijk best oké qua ontwerp. Gezien het kleedje zo groot is, was het wat lastig op de foto zetten.

Caraval Sisters Mug

Mijn mening | Wauw, dit is niet gewoon een mok met een quote, maar hij is echt volledig bedrukt! De kleuren die de ontwerper heeft gebruikt komen heel mooi uit op deze mok en de mok valt echt op tussen al mijn andere exemplaren. Heel erg leuk.

Magical Pin Set

Fairyloot | The box would not be complete without a beautiful enamel pin, but we couldn’t stop at just one, so we created a Magical Pin Set. The pins represent some of the most iconic symbols throughout the series. The top hat pin is brought to you by @dustandpages and the Aracle pin is designed by @_iceydesigns. Pin and display them proudly!

Mijn mening | Zoals ik zo vaak zeg: ik doe eigenlijk niks met pins. Maar sommigen vind ik zo mooi dat ik ze wel bewaar. Een tijdje terug zat er een handige vlag in de box waar je ze op kunt pinnen. Dus die moet ik nog steeds eens even in gebruik gaan nemen zodat ik ze kan laten zien in huis. Deze vind ik ook erg leuk. Mede natuurlijk door mijn liefde voor deze serie, haha.

Collectible Legend Figurine

Fairyloot | We are so excited to finally be able to share with you this exclusive Collectible Legend Figurine! It was very hard to keep this item a secret – we’ve been working on it for months! We really hope little Legend will find a cosy spot on your shelves and we cannot wait to see your photos of him. The figurine was designed by the talented @noverantale.

Mijn mening | Hoewel ik het idee van dit poppetje ontzettend leuk vind, vind ik het jammer dat het gezicht niet wat meer lijkt op die op het doosje. Ook de roos is niet mooi gelukt en erg vlekkerig. Toch zal ik het poppetje wel bewaren denk ik, al is het maar om het idee dat het Legend voor moet stellen, haha.

Lip Balm

Mijn mening | Ook bij dit item vind ik het idee ontzettend leuk. Hoe leuk is het om een lippenbalsem te creëren met appelgeur, passend bij Jacks?! Echter gebruik ik lippenbalsems uit boxen niet. Ik gebruik eigenlijk alleen Labello. En zelfs dat eigenlijk niet meer, haha, want ik ben net van mijn Labello verslaving af.

Character Prints

Fairyloot | We absolutely had to include Character Prints for Legend, Scarlett, Tella, Julian and Jacks. These stunning prints are exclusive to this box and are painted by the talented @niru.sky. We love the little details in these prints, it feels like the images will come to life in front of your eyes.

Mijn mening | Waaaauuuwww, deze zijn so pretty! Oké, ik weet even echt niks anders te zeggen, haha. Ik stond op het punt om meerdere keren achter elkaar hetzelfde de typen. xD De ontwerpen spreken mij qua stijl enorm aan met de blaadjes die rondvliegen. Maar ook de personages vind ik mooi weergegeven qua lijnen, volheid en kleuren.

Square Art Print

Fairyloot | Your art collection would not be complete without a print that shows the quartet that started it all. You can find Legend, Scarlett, Tella and Julian depicted on this fun Square Art Print that is designed by none other than @morgano0anagrom, and is exclusive to this box! The square shape makes it perfect for a fun frame to hang on your wall.

Mijn mening | Haha, oké, vond ik de character prints hierboven werkelijk prachtig, vind ik deze echt mega lelijk. Kijk dan naar Scarlett, ze lijkt zo wel een heks. Ook vind ik de kaken getekend met veel te strakke lijnen. Ik hou meer van volle, ronde lijnen zoals bij de character prints.

Bookmarks

Fairyloot | Even after your Finale adventure is over, carry the characters with you to your future reads with the double-sided exclusive Bookmarks featuring art by the amazing @arz28. Which one is your favourite?

Mijn mening | Ook bij deze boekenleggers spreekt de stijl mij niet helemaal aan. Ik vind de takken met rozen wel prachtig, maar de personages vind ik niet mooi weergegeven. Wederom vind ik de lijnen niet mooi.

Playing Card Necklace

Fairyloot | We hope you feel closer to Caraval with this dainty Playing Card Necklace. Wear it as a reminder that not everything is always as it seems. We think a certain Fate would very much approve of it!

Mijn mening | De ketting die destijds in de box met Caraval zat – de roos – draag ik af en toe nog wel eens. Mede ook omdat het zo goed past bij mijn liefde voor rozen en mijn blognaam. Deze kaart ketting zal ik minder snel dragen, maar wie weet draag ik hem naar het event in Dynamo, waar Stephanie Garber aanwezig zal zijn.

Exclusive edition of Finale

Fairyloot | Finally, we have the exclusive edition of Finale. This edition is very different to the standard edition – it has a dark grey cover, stencil sprayed edges, rose gold foiling and a matching cover under the dust jacket. The standard UK edition is red with gold foil and red underneath the dust jacket whereas the standard US edition has a purple cover. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Mijn mening | Fairyloot heeft zichzelf echt overtroffen met deze speciale editie! Ik heb rode UK versie ook, en had verwacht dat deze ook rood zou zijn. Maar deze Fairyloot editie past juist perfect bij de andere speciale UK edities. Hoewel ik uiteindelijk ook verliefd ben geworden op de rode editie, vond ik het jammer dat Finale zo afstak bij de andere twee zwart-witte edities van Caraval en Legendary. Maar de Fairyloot editie past er perfect bij. De onderkant en bovenkant van de pagina’s hebben zwarte randen, en op de zijkant vind je afbeeldingen van schoppen, klaver, ruiten en harten. Fantastisch! Ook de hidden cover is prachtig, het springt echt van de cover af. Wat ik ook supergaaf vind is dat achterop de brief een exclusieve verwijderde scène te vinden is!

Conclusie

Deze Fairyloot Finale Collector’s Edition box is awesome! De box zelf was al veel groter dan de gewone boxen, en had ook nog eens een mooie speciale kleur. De box zit bom-en-bomvol met items geïnspireerd door de serie. Veel van de items zijn met afbeeldingen van de personages, misschien dat ik dat stiekem wel een beetje jammer vind. Ik zou items met quotes namelijk ook heel erg leuk gevonden hebben. Mijn favoriete item is natúúrlijk het boek. Wauw, wat is dit een prachtige editie. Maar ook de het pakje kaarten, de book sleeve en de character cards zijn favoriet van mij. Deze Fairyloot Finale Collector’s Edition box is wat mij betreft zeker geslaagd. Misschien is het zelfs wel de tofste box die ze tot nu toe hebben gemaakt.
