Unboxing | Fairyloot – Desert Dreams

Ook op de mei box hebben we even moeten wachten. Maar half juni werd die onverwacht opeens door de postbode bezorgd. Hurray! Het thema van de Fairyloot box van mei is Desert Dreams. Fairyloot zei hierover dat je erin items kunt vinden geïnspireerd door We Hunt the Flame, An Ember in the Ashes, Rebel of the Sands, The Forbidden Wish en meer. Een aantal typen items zouden zelfs nooit eerder in de box hebben gezeten, al zou er in elk geval ook een kaars in zitten van Wick & Fable. Kijk je mee naar de unboxing?

Bookish Tin

Fairyloot | We’re so excited to share this amazing bookish tin designed by @chattynora with you! The artwork is inspired by We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal and we love how it looks. It’s perfect for storing anything, from tea leaves to trinkets!

Jessica | Ik heb al eens in een andere box zo’n blikje gehad, maar die was slechts klein genoeg voor Oreo’s. Deze is wat groter, dus daar heb je gelukkig wat meer aan omdat er meer in past, of grotere items in passen. Verder heb ik We Hunt the Flame nog niet gelezen, dus ik heb geen idee of dit blikje uiteindelijk een favoriet gaat worden of niet.

Theedoek

Jessica | Hoewel ik het theedoek op zich wel mooi vind – niet spectaculair (want: boek niet gelezen) -, past het helaas niet in mijn interieur. Ik ben ook autistisch genoeg, dat ik altijd een handdoek en een theedoek met hetzelfde patroon naast elkaar wil hebben hangen. Ook vind ik het bijna zonde om zoiets in gebruik te nemen. Ik ga hem wel bewaren, wie weet neem ik hem mee op vakantie of iets dergelijks.

Pollepel

Fairyloot | We have previously featured some kitchen utensils and cutlery, but we thought there was something missing… so we would like to introduce you to the bookish wooden spoon, engraved with a design by @kdpletters! It featured a quote from Hero of the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton.

Jessica | Deze quote past zo goed bij boekliefhebbers! Ook vind ik het erg leuk dat er nóg een gebruiksitem in de box zit. Al vind ik het ook hier bijna zonde om het in gebruik te nemen, haha. Dit item vind ik echter wel echt handig.

Badzout

Fairyloot | Make sure you take time to relax! In your box you will find some gorgeous desert bath salts to soak your worries away. These bath salts were made by Little Hearts Gifts, and no worries if you do not own a bathtub – you can use these for a foot soak to give your feet the rest they deserve!

Jessica | Badzout kom je best wel vaak tegen in boekenboxen. Maar ik vraag mij af hoeveel procent van de ontvangers daadwerkelijk een bad heeft. Wij namelijk helaas niet. En als ik dan een keer naar een hotel zou gaan waar ze een bad hebben, dan heb ik liever een badbom.

Fairyloot | As the days are becoming sunnier we thought it could be fun and useful to include a sunglass pouch so you can always protect your pair of shades! It features a beautiful quote from The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury, designed by @kitstercronk.

Jessica | Dit is dan weer een item waar ik wél echt wat mee kan. Op die dagen waarop je dan weer wel en dan weer niet je zonnebril nodig hebt, en je hem op bepaalde momenten even in je tas bewaart, is dit superhandig. Op die manier komen er namelijk minder snel krasjes op je zonnebril.

Tarot Cards

Fairyloot | This month’s featured tarot cards are the Three and Four of Cups. They are designed by the very talented @gabriella.bujdisi and are inspired by the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas!

Jessica | Hier heb ik weinig nieuws over te zeggen, ik ben altijd blij met een aanvulling op de kaarten die ik al heb. Dit zullen denk ik ook al bijna de laatste kaarten van de Throne of Glass set zijn. Ik ben benieuwd welke boekenserie hierop volgt.

Kaars

Fairyloot | Relax and set the mood with the beautiful tribal desert candle inspired by The Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir. They were hand-poured by the amazing @wickandfable, and they will make your room smell delightful.

Jessica | Ik heb al wel vaker aangegeven dat ze wel mogen stoppen met het stoppen van kaarsen in boekenboxen. Ik heb er al zó ontzettend veel, brand ze eigenlijk alleen in de winter en nja, ik wil ook wel eens wat anders. Als het nou een citronella kaars was geweest, dan had ik die deze zomer zéker gebruikt.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn

Fairyloot | We are so excited to be bringing to your this beautiful edition of Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust! It is a captivating story inspired by Persian mythology. In this original fairy tale, a girl is cursed to be poisonous to the touch, and it truly is a gem. Jessica | Boeken met een Perzisch thema trekken mij over het algemeen niet helemaal. Echter wil ik alle Fairyloot boeken die ik heb sowieso uitproberen voordat ik ze wegdoe. Dus ook deze zal ik een kans geven.

Conclusie

Wederom vind ik dit geen spetterende box. Het is wel fijn dat er veel gebruiksitems in zitten. Dat heb ik namelijk duizend keer liever dan papierwerk. Daar heb ik echt geen plek meer voor. De  pollepel en het hoesje voor de zonnebril zal ik waarschijnlijk het meest gebruiken.
