Unboxing | Fairyloot – Break the Curse

Het duurde even, maar eindelijk is dan de Fairyloot box van maart binnen. Fijn is dat Fairyloot altijd is blijven communiceren over de reden van de vertraging. En uiteraard begrijp ik dit maar al te goed. Corona overvalt heel de wereld en het kan niet anders dan dat dit een effect heeft op bedrijven. Waaronder Fairyloot. Maar goed, de box is binnen en heeft als thema Break the Curse! Laten we snel kijken of het het wachten waard is.

Mijn mening | Dit vind ik een prachtige booksleeve. Ik het er al vrij veel, maar slechts weinig daarvan hebben een spatwaterdichte afwerking en rits. Daarnaast spreekt het design mij ook enorm aan, dus ik ben er blij mee.

Mijn mening | Ik heb The Raven Boys niet gelezen, maar gezien het boek zó vaak terugkomt in de Fairyloot box denk ik dat ik het toch maar een keer moet gaan doen. De haarband vind ik leuk, maar ik weet niet of ik hem ook daadwerkelijk zal dragen.

Mijn mening | Meh, ik heb geen idee wat ik hiermee moet doen. Ik heb niet eens een paspoort.

Mijn mening | Recent heb ik het eerste deel in deze boekenserie gelezen en ben ik fan. Echter doet de tumbler cup mij helaas niet zoveel. Ik vind het jammer dat je de beker mee moet draaien om de gehele tekst te kunnen lezen, en vind de quote overall ook niet bijzonder. Erg jammer.

Mijn mening | Het is echt ‘geïnspireerd op’, want ik vind de illustraties niet dusdanig op het boek afgestemd dat het eruit springt. Een lanyard kan soms handig zijn om te hebben liggen, dus ik denk dat ik hem wel bewaar, maar vind hem niet speciaal.

Genie Notepad

Mijn mening | Alsjeblieft, kunnen we gewoon een jaar geen notitieblokjes in de box doen? Ik heb er nog zo-veel liggen. Ook heb ik niet zoveel met Aladdin, dus het spreekt mij ook nog eens niet aan.

Tarot Cards

Fairyloot | This month’s featured tarot cards are the Eight of Cups and the Seven of Cups. They are designed by @gabriella.bujdoso and inspired by the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas!

Mijn mening | Pretty, pretty, pretty! Ik hou van deze serie en vind het dan ook erg leuk dat ze mooi worden weergegeven op de tarot kaarten.

Extra

Extra in de box was deze kaart van Velaris. Wat een leuk idee! Op de achterkant wordt dank uitgedrukt naar iedereen die op de box heeft moeten wachten.

Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie

Mijn mening | Dit boek ziet er práchtig uit. Ik ben heel blij met deze editie met prachtig artwork op de dustjacket (zowel voor- als achterkant). Maar ik ben ook al in het boek begonnen en tot nu toe leest het heerlijk weg en vind ik het een intrigerend verhaal.

Conclusie

Het meest enthousiast ben ik in deze Break the Curse box met het boek, de book sleeve en de tarot kaarten. De rest heeft mij helaas niet omver geblazen. Maar het boek is wel echt een pareltje hoor!
